Founded in 1986, Sunflowers was set up by a group of people which had something in common; each had been affected by cancer. A self help support group emerged (Liverpool Cancer Care ) and grew, eventually becoming Sunflowers in 2011.
Sunflowers provides a unique support service to individuals and families affected by a cancer diagnosis in the Merseyside region. We provide counselling, complementary therapies, art and craft therapies, exercise classes and lots more, in a welcoming and safe environment. All of the activities and services we provide are aimed to:
- Help people affected by cancer avoid social isolation
- Help those affected by cancer stay physically active.
- Help those affected by cancer to maintain or improve their mental health and wellbeing.
Sunflowers is run by a small staff team, and a large number of experienced and skilled volunteers. We have a weekly schedule of classes and support services, and a varied range of events and courses running throughout the year.
Our services are free (or highly subsidised). To register or find out more about Sunflowers contact firstname.lastname@example.org
