Groups
A wide range of specific support groups meet at Sunflowers as many patients who have a shared cancer type find it helpful to talk to people who have had a similar experience. Most of these are held in the evening.
Prostate Group
Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of every month between 7pm and 9pm.
All meetings are informal, informative, interesting, cordial and confidential, everyone is welcome prostate cancer survivors, wives, partners and friends.
Occassional visits by oncologists, urologists and specialist nurses takes place to address general questions from the group.
Do not let embarrassment or loneliness be an obstacle. Visit the group and get the support you deserve.

Beginners Computer Group
Tuesday 10.30am – 12.30pm
Crafts
Try your hand at card making, glass painting, sewing and lots more, even if you haven’t had a go before, there is always someone there to help. All the tools and materials will be ready for you to get creative. Why not join us on Tuesday afternoons between 2.00 – 4.00pm.
Art Therapy
Art is an amazing outlet for emotions and creativity and the art therapy class is a great way to learn a new skill and produce something beautiful or interesting. Discover the basics and apply them to your own work to develop a piece that would look perfect on your own wall. To get involved, Art Therapy is on a Wednesday between 10.30 – 1.30pm
Tai Chi
Local expert Joyce Hughes teach the benefits of Tai Chi and make us realise the relaxation and strength that can be learned from this ancient art. The classes are held every Thursday 10.30 -12.30
Sunflowers Choir
Every Thursday afternoon, the fantastic Alison Crawford takes the Sunflowers Sun-Gold Girls through their musical paces. As with all of the Feel Good Factor activities, you can join the Sunflower Choir free of charge to take in the highs the lows and the harmonies of the choir all leading up to regular concerts in aid of the centre. If you are interested in joining us for a good hearty sing and you don’t have to be a Jose Carreras or Maria Callas then pop in on Thursdays between 2.00pm – 4.00pm.

We are very proud of the activities that we provide under’The Feel Good Factor’. We understand that the nature of your diagnosis changes you forever and we aim to provide an outlet for the new you with a range of activities to stimulate and activate your mind and body. It is proven that a positive mental state can aid your recovery.
