Mens Cancer Awareness Day; Tuesday 27th September at the Royal Liverpool Hospital Main Entrance 10am till 2pm. Come along and find out important information about Cancer and how it effects men.

RunLiverpool 2011; Sunflowers has been nominated as Run Liverpool “official charity of the year”. Knowsley Flower Shower 7th August 11 am is a unique opportunity for Sunflowers to attract the attention of 18,000 people in attendance at Knowsley Flower show. Lynne’s Open Garden Take a couple of hours out of your busy lives and come join us at Lynne’s Open Garden 31st July 12am till 6pm in aid of Sunflowers. You can enjoy the atmosphere alongside friendly faces with a nice cup of freshly made tea with a lovely jubbly homemade scone. So what are you waiting for ladies and gents!

Mersey Tri Bike Ride are cycling from Lands End  to John O’Groats in 8 days aiming to raise £10,000 for Sunflowers and Nugent Care starting on Friday 1^st July. This is a fantastic amount of fundraising for a local Cancer support charity in Liverpool. Singing Our Socks Off Community Choir Swanky Swingy Charity Gala At The China Palace Wednesday 29^th June. Fabulous night at China Palace, thanks to everyone involved. The Sunflowers music group you touched everyone with your songs you should be very proud.

Hale Village Hall Art exhibition Sunday 26^th June.

Merseyside’s Woman of the Year 2011 set up to reward women in Merseyside, for their achievements in just doing what they do best, changing lives, giving that extra meaning to peoples lives across Merseyside.  Sunflowers nominated Cath Bowen and on Friday 24th June she got voted as runner up in “Community Involvement”. Cath who at 81 still attends the Sunflowers every week, as she has been doing for more than 17 years. A mother of four Cath lost her husband Joe to cancer 18 years ago. Every week she goes to Sunflowers to help fundraise and listens and supports people who are going through very emotional times. Everyone here at Sunflowers wanted to appluade Cath for what she does here at Sunflowers and may this continue for a very long time indeed.

Norvartis Bike Ride; Congratulations Matt and Mark Harrop for taking up the challenge of a cycle Coast to Coast starting Friday 24th June, from Belfast to Fanad Head, Co. BNI Golf Event at Formby Hall 23^rd June. This event was in partnership with MerseyTri Bike Ride where Sunflowers participated through Barclays in kind donation of Volunteers throughout the day including 18 hole golf course, dinner/auction evening.

Hale Carnival Saturday 11^th June Is an annual event in local village park. This gave Sunflowers the opportunity to promote the charities work and to engage with the public through the collections of art for sale by current service users.

Bag Packing Tescos Mather Avenue Tuesday 17^th May.

Tom Murphy Liverpool Sculptor presents to service users his life stories on being a sculptor in Liverpool and how he quickly became famous through his work.

Art Exhibition at Calderstones Park Coach House Two weekends one being Friday 22 April to Monday 25 April and the second being the May bank holiday. This has been noticed as an excellent pilot to promote our services as a charity and as a result we have had enquires from the public based upon being at Calderstones over the two occasions.
